Best Used Supermini? The Honda Jazz

Which? Car is Britain's Best Used Supermini? Answer: The Honda Jazz

The popular British built Honda Jazz has another accolade to add to its growing trophy cabinet - it has been named Britain’s Best Used Supermini by consumer champions Which?

The annual Which? Car Survey is the largest of its kind and results are based on good reliability and owner satisfaction, plus a high score in the Which? Car road test. Experts praised the Jazz’s class-leading space and versatility, bullet-proof reliability, strong resale values and the fact it’s easy and safe to drive. The results also took into account positive feedback from Jazz owners.

Richard Headland, Cars editor, Which? commented; 'Buyers looking for a nearly new supermini should make a beeline for the Jazz. Owners love its blend of class-leading interior space, smart looks and excellent reliability.

'It's sought-after second-hand, so not the cheapest choice, but you'll also find buyers willing to pay good money when you come to sell it later.'

This result follows hot on the heels of the Jazz’s success in the 2012 JD Power owner satisfaction survey where it remained the supermini category leader for an impressive ninth year running.

It has also reinforced Honda’s efforts to excel in customer satisfaction. The 2012 Warranty Direct study into the most dependable family-sized cars saw Honda dominate the top three with the Civic and Accord awarded second and third place respectively.

The Jazz is available with two snappy i-VTEC petrol engines – 1.2 and 1.4 – and Honda’s efficient hybrid IMA technology. The range is priced from £11,605 OTR for the entry level 1.2 S with the Hybrid variants starting at £16,300 OTR.

Jazz 1.2 i-VTEC SE

Honda’s Idle Stop Now Standard on Jazz 1.2 i-VTEC SE

Honda has introduced its fuel-saving Idle Stop technology to the Jazz 1.2 i-VTEC to further demonstrate the company’s commitment to reducing emissions and improving efficiency.

The Jazz 1.2 SE with Idle Stop delivers a combined fuel economy of 54.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 120 g/km – representing an improvement of 3 g/km. This drop in CO2 emissions means the car now sits in tax band C and costs only £30 a year to tax.

The Jazz SE with Idle Stop is available to order now for £12,870 OTR and sits above the S grade (with air con) in the model line up. It also benefits from the addition of Auto Climate Control and body coloured door handles and mirrors.

Idle Stop technology is already a standard feature in all Honda’s hybrid models – CR-Z, Jazz Hybrid and Insight – as well as across the new Civic range. The Idle Stop system improves efficiency by automatically switching off the engine when the car comes to a stop and is put in neutral with the foot off the clutch. The engine springs back into life as soon as the clutch is depressed.

JD Power Supermini

Honda Jazz Tops the JD Power Supermini Category – Again

The British built Honda Jazz fends off strong competition to remain on pole position in the 2012 JD Power owner satisfaction survey’s supermini category for an impressive ninth year running.

The Survey takes the views of almost 18,000 car buyers, having driven around 360 million miles between them and scores each car in four categories - vehicle quality and reliability, appeal, service satisfaction and ownership costs. Honda’s popular supermini retains a flawless record having stayed at the top since its introduction to the Survey in 2004.

Honda owners applauded the large interior space as one of the cars best assets, offering plenty of leg and headroom in the front and rear, as well as unparalleled storage space. The boot capacity is made even more impressive with the magic seats, famed for providing flexibility and multiple seating configurations.

The Jazz also scored highly for purchase price and low insurance costs, making it a great car for first time buyers and young drivers. The Honda supermini also received an impressive score for fuel economy, helping to ease the cost of motoring for those on the road.

Honda dealers were judged to be the friendliest and customers commented on the impressive service they received, saying that advisors would often go out of their way to help.

“The customer satisfaction shown by Jazz owners reinforces the dedication and professionalism displayed by the dealer network” says Leon Brannan, Head of Customer and Aftersales at Honda (UK). “We strive to provide customers with value for money and a continuously improved experience, so it’s great to receive such positive feedback.”

The past month has highlighted Honda’s efforts to excel in customer satisfaction. The recent Warranty Direct study into the most dependable family-sized cars saw Honda dominate the top three with the Civic and Accord awarded second and third place respectively.

The Jazz is available with two snappy petrol engines – 1.2 and 1.4 – and Honda’s efficient hybrid IMA technology. The range is priced from £11,605 OTR for the entry level 1.2 S with the Hybrid variants starting at £16,300 OTR.

The popular Jazz supermini also continues to benefit from the ‘Your Honda, Your Way’ campaign which was launched at the beginning of the year. This campaign gives customers the opportunity to create their very own exclusive package by choosing three complimentary options.
